Five Tips On How To Wear Jewelry Like Royalty

How you wear your jewelry reflects so much about your taste and your upbringing. If you've ever wondered what makes princesses so princess-like, you're in for a surprise. The truth is that what makes these darlings so regal is not the price tag of their clothes or accessories; it's actually just the way they carry themselves and the jewelry that they wear. To emulate the elegance of royalty, check out the following tips.

1. Love your body. Do not let jewelry overshadow the beauty of yours. Of course, your body, as with everyone else's, is not perfect in all respects. For the perfect parts, however, use jewelry as sparingly as possible. If you have to use one piece, make sure that piece is delicate and inconspicuous. When your slender fingers are already the apple of everyone's eye, there's absolutely no need for you to wear a ring on each digit. A simple band with a single stone setting will do the trick.

2. Harmonize with the right size. This tip specifically involves choosing the right earrings and bracelets for you. The game of proportions is easy to understand and remember. When you're a huge person, go for huge jewelry. When you're a petite person, go for delicate pieces. Misusing contrast in this situation will result to you looking either like a giant or a dwarf. Be warned further that even with the right size, the excessive use of jewelry pieces will make you look like a corpulent beast of burden.

3. Pick the right length. This tip specifically involves choosing the right necklace for you. In most cases, you'll have to make this consideration in tandem with a number of factors: the length of your neck, the kind of clothes you're wearing and the fullness of your bust line. Chokers work best when you have a slender neck and you're donning open necklines or tubes. Chokers are an absolute no-no when you're garbed in a turtle-neck top, no matter how slender your neck is. Long necklaces are ideal when you have a not-so-long neck and when you have an enviably robust bust line. The long chain elongates your neck and inconspicuously guides the onlooker's eyes to your assets.

4. Wear a tiara. Royalty and beauty titlists are not the only ones entitled to wear tiaras. On formal occasions, wear one when your hairstyle lacks pomp and flair. You don't have to go to a hairstylist to have your tresses done. You can simply groom your hair and let the strands fall unfastened on your shoulders. The tiara will do the trick for you and will make any plain-looking hairstyle sophisticated and elegant.

5. Never overdo the show. You'll just end up looking cheap. Picture the following scenario: A ring each on all ten fingers, two earrings on each ear, a nose ring, a tongue ring, several bangles and necklaces, a watch on each wrist. With this getup, you're no longer royalty but a walking peddler of jewelry – no matter how cheap or expensive the pieces may be.
