Seven Jewelry Wearing Guidelines To Keep In Mind

How to wear jewelry will actually depend on the owner. Some women like it loud and bold; some like it simple and dainty. Whichever way it is, it won't hurt to learn a tip or two.

1. Avoid clashing your jewelry. Wear only one bold, loud jewelry at a time. If you are wearing chandelier earrings, avoid wearing loud necklaces because the two will clash and fight for attention.

In addition, if you are wearing bangles, avoid stacking up more than three. Too much of it will not look good on you or your wrist. If you are wearing a bold necklace, pair it with a dainty earring.

If you are wearing two or more bangles, wear a simple ring. You don't have to bring attention to almost every single part of your body because all you need is an accent, enough to bring life to your outfit. So remember ladies, one statement jewelry at a time.

2. If you are going to wear big, colorful jewelry, the kind that is encrusted with semi-precious stones of varying colors, do not wear something printed. Printed clothes don't go well with bold jewelry so counter this by wearing something plain like black or white.

The prints on your clothing will go against the colors of your jewelry. Remember to keep your clothing simple and plain if you want to wear big, bold and colourful jewelry.

3. If you love jewel encrusted cocktail rings, then let it be the center of attention. In other words, avoid pairing it with other jewel encrusted jewels. Always focus on one focal point every time you don on a set of jewelry.

4. Before you put on a pair of earrings, a set of bangles and a ring, always think about your activity. This is important because over accessorizing is a big no-no. Heavy, bold jewelry should only be worn on formal occasions like a dinner date.

5. When wearing necklaces, consider your age. For example, older women should avoid wearing collars and chokers because this will only draw attention to the loosening skin on their necks. They should settle for rope or matinee necklaces.

If you have a thin neck and don't want to draw attention to it, try wearing layered necklaces. V-neck necklaces are a big no-no because this will only highlight your neck area.

6. Necklaces come in various lengths and these lengths don't fit just any type of outfit. So what you have to do is to coordinate the length of your necklace with the type of outfit you are wearing. If you are fond wearing turtlenecks, then you can accessorize it with long necklaces like the rope, the matinee, the opera or the princess. If you are going to wear a strapless dress or top, then a choker or a collar will work well with it.

7. When wearing jewelry, you should also consider your body type. Petite women should avoid oversized and bulky jewelries. Instead, they should wear something dainty and delicate. If they want to wear something chunky, choose a cocktail ring or bangles. On the other hand, plus sized women should wear something big and bold rather than small and delicate.
